BANGOR, Maine – Using a 90-point ride in the championship round, Australian Lawson Nobbs (Moura) came from behind to win his first-ever PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) event with the victory in Bangor, Maine.

Nobbs went 4-for-4 in the PWVT event at the Cross Insurance Center in front of a record crowd of 11,967 for the three-day event. On Friday in Round 1 he recorded a 79-point score aboard Southern Twist (Broken Arrow Bucking Bulls) before going 8 on Scream Tested (Broken Arrow Bucking Bulls) in Round 2 for 83.5 points.

Another Broken Arrow bull was no match for Nobbs as the 21-year Aussie covered Blue Crush 86.5 points for in Round 3 on Sunday.

Nobbs won the championship round with the only 90-point ride of the three-day event with his ride on Bandit (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls).

He earned 170 points with the victory along with $7,950 and is now ranked No. 44 in the PBR World Standings. Every Velocity Tour victor is given an opportunity to ride at an Unleash The Beast event and with his win in Bangor, Nobbs will ride at the Billings Invitational in Billings, Montana on April 12-14.

Lucas Souza(Barnstable, Massachusetts) finished in second place, going 3-for-4. He was bucked off Gubber (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in Round 1 before covering Blue Moon (Blue Rafter Rodeo, LLC.) in Round 2 for 87 points.

On Sunday in the final two rounds of the event, he rode Stealing Thunder (J Bar W) for 88.5 points before he went the whistle on Plum Crazy (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) for 89 points.

Souza earned 115 world points along with a paycheck of $6,750. He is now ranked 49th in the world standings.

Bryan Titman(East Barnard, Texas) finished in third place for his highest finish of the season. Titman rode each of his bulls in the first three rounds. His buckoff by Livin The Life (Big Rafter Rodeo, LLC.) in the championship round was the only bull he was unable to cover.

Titman earned 85 points on Face Space (J Bar W) and then 89 points on Mud Duck (Cornwell Bucking Bulls/Circle G.) and Blue Moon (Big Rafter Rodeo, LLC.). He earned 155 points towards the world standings along with a paycheck of $5,100. Titman is now ranked 48th in the world.

Fourth place went to Cody Rodeo Tyler (Guthrie, Oklahoma) who earned 23.33 world points along with $2,100. Tyler rode Devil Dog (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 85 points in Round 1. Then made the whistle on two J Bar W bulls, Earthquake for 86.5 points and Movin On Up for 87 points.

He was unable to ride his championship round bull, bucking off Bocephus (Big Rafter Rodeo, LLC.) in 2.24 seconds.

Rounding out the Top 5 was Cristiano Figueredo (Sapucaia do Norte, Brazil) who also went 3-for-4 and earned 15 points towards the world standings.

Figueredo started Sunday’s Round 3 with 85.5 points aboard Bone Tomahawk (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) before failing to ride Lawton (Big Rafter Rodeo, LLC.) in the championship round.

Next up the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will travel to Wheeling, West Virginia for a two-day event on March 15-16 and a one-day show in Dayton, Ohio on March 16.
