About the photographer

Monty began his career working as a staff photographer at The Penobscot Times in Old Town. In 1989 Monty began his own business which has branched out to include wedding, portrait, daycare and corporate photography as well as sports. He went on to work for the University of Maine as a freelance photographer where he had the opportunity to shoot for the National Championship Maine Hockey team. In addition to sports photography Monty also provided the University of Maine with news, stock and special event photography.

Monty is an award winning photographer with an impressive list of clients that include Sports Illustrated, NBC, Disney, USA Today, Boston Globe, Upper Deck, Associated Press, Hockey East, The Sporting News, Hollywood Slots and the NCAA along with numerous colleges and youth teams in the Northeast.

“Being a photojournalist, I have to be ready to shoot anything that comes along and shoot it well. Having a background in news and sports has given me a unique advantage when it comes to wedding photography. I see it as another type of event where you as a photographer need to be ready to react to any situation that may come up and capture the moment. No matter what is thrown my way, I take pride in being able to find a solution to give clients the best possible images to suit their needs.”
